The Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre hosts many of the community’s competitive swim clubs and water sport related clubs in Lethbridge, including the LA Swim Club (LASC), Masters Swim Club, Lethbridge Synchrobelles, Lethbridge Dive Club, Lethbridge Special Olympics and others.
Southern Alberta’s Newest Aquatic Program Team – Formerly known as the Excalibur Swim Team. Spartans Aquatic Club is committed to develop and promote excellence in swimming to the respective level of each swimmer's personal athletic achievement. Our six-levelled competitive and non-competitive groups swim from September to June. The caliber of swimming ranges from beginners (4 years old) who are just starting out, to a National swim level. Our Masters program is gaining a lot of popularity with those who want to improve their stroke, get into shape or potentially compete in swim meets or triathlons. Our qualified, professional coaches focus and strive to fine tune all aspects of the sport including dry land workouts for the more advanced groups. We also make time for team building activities which enable our amazing swimmers to get to know each other and celebrate their success as a team.
The Lethbridge Summer Swim Club consists of approximately 100 members. The club ranges from the ages of 5 to 19 as well as in ability, from novice to the club nationals. LSSC has a wealth of history winning 22 Region F Championships, 2 ASSA Provincial Championships and producing several quality swimmers. Our season begins on May 1st and runs until approximately mid-August depending on when the ASSA Provincials are held.
The LA Swim Club is Lethbridge’s premier competitive swim team, providing professional instruction and a positive environment for swimmers of all ages.
Founded in 1950 by former Olympic swimmer Stan Siwik, LASC is a presence at the provincial, national, and international level of competition. With programming from the learn-to-swim level to elite performance, LASC promotes athletic excellence through progressive holistic training.
LASC is governed by Swim Alberta at the provincial level, Swimming Canada at the national level, and FINA at the international level. Our coaches are certified, recognized professionals, trained specifically to work with athletes at various physiological and psychological stages of development. The club offers year-round training for competitive swimmers at the University of Lethbridge’s Max Bell Regional Aquatic Center.
