Coulee Critters Forest & Nature School

Coulee Critters is an entirely outdoor, nature-based program for children ages 3-10 where the premise for the day-to-day activities is play and exploration. The program is play-based, child-led, and experiential. Stan Siwik Family Pool

The Stan Siwik Family Pool was constructed in 1974. Originally designed for synchronized swimming and diving programs, the pool has a rectangular 6 lane and 25 metre tank. There are two diving boards in full operation. A hot tub and fitness area were added during extensive renovations.

The Pool offers programs in condition swimming, open swim, aquajog, and other public programs such as senior, family and parent and tot swims. It also caters to school programs and swimming lessons during the winter season.

The Lethbridge Summer Swim Club consists of approximately 100 members. The club ranges from the ages of 5 to 19 as well as in ability, from novice to the club nationals. The Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre was constructed on the West Side of Lethbridge in 1982 and it includes a swimming pool and one sheet of ice. The Gyro Spray Park is located behind the Leisure Centre. The pool is rectangular in shape, 25 meters long with two slides and a rope. There is also a wading pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness area equipped with appropriate equipment. The emphasis in this facility is on a total family leisure concept and it caters mostly to the young.

Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild

The Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild is a non-profit roller derby league in Lethbridge, Alberta. Estblished in 2010, it is home to the Deathbridge Derby Dames, the women's team, and the Windy City Wipeouts, the co-ed junior team.

Roller derby is a contact sport for all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities. The Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild's junior program is for boys and girls aged 8 to 17. Children will learn to safely skate, then work up to teamwork and contact.

In the adult program, you can train to become a member of the Deathbridge Derby Dames, playing full-contact games across western Canada.

Or, you can train to become a roller derby referee, after graduating from the adult skating program. As a referee you travel with the team and are part of the game day reffing crew.

Lethbridge Minor Basketball Association

A non-profit organization committed to teaching sportsmanship and basketball skills to children and youth through coach mentored practice and competition.

The Lethbridge Minor Basketball Association (LMBA) was founded in 2007 to develop interest and skills in the sport of basketball in Southern Alberta. LMBA operates in partnership with Basketball Alberta to provide JR NBA, Steve Nash Youth Basketball (SNYB) and Superleague Basketball to children and youth. We also operate Boys and Girls Club basketball teams for the spring tournament season in the U11 and U13 categories. Steve Nash and Superleague run from early January until the end of March. All practice and league games will be played at schools in Lethbridge. Club basketball begins near the end of February and continues until the middle of June. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to coach, referee, score, and time keep. Application forms will be available at registration.

Lethbridge Lacrosse Association

The Lethbridge Lacrosse Association is a non-profit amateur sport organization, created and governed by volunteers. Our primary mission is to organize and promote the game of lacrosse in Lethbridge and surrounding communities in Southern Alberta.

The Association has been founded upon the principles of Athlete Centered Coaching, as promoted by the Canadian Lacrosse Association. Athlete Centered Coaching means that the organization is designed to serve the needs of youth and adults interested in playing the sport of lacrosse.

The programs of the association create opportunities for fun, exercise, and skill development, based on the expressed desires of the athletes, and not those of coaches or administrators. The association promotes the best interests of the players through a commitment to sportsmanship and fair play, and to the creation of a supportive learning environment that is free from harassment, abuse, or intimidation.

All persons seeking membership in the Lethbridge Lacrosse Association shall be provided with a formal statement regarding the association’s athlete centered coaching policy, and must agree to support this philosophy as a condition of participation in the activities of the association.

Lethbridge Country Club

The Lethbridge Country Club was founded in 1913 and moved to its current location in the mid 1920’s. As Lethbridge’s only private member-owned golf club, the Lethbridge CC has prospered over the years expanding to 18 holes in 1983 and growing to 585 shareholders since that time.

The current membership is comprised of 585 playing shareholders and with spouses and juniors, the club has approximately 850 annual members. Fortunately, many of the members are not active golfers, which leaves good accessibility to tee times for those who wish to use the facilities frequently. Most of the membership is comprised of people in the Lethbridge business community along with many retired community members.

In a game of broomball there are two teams, each consisting of six players: a goaltender and five others. The object of the game is to score more goals than the opponent. Goals are scored by hitting the ball into the opponent's net using the broom. Tactics and plays are similar to those used in sports such asice hockey, roller hockey and floorball.

Lethbridge Association of the Blind

LAB provides social and recreational opportunities for people of all ages. The Association runs a bowling league from September thru April on Tuesday nights at the Holiday Bowl. There are numerous activities through the year and at least one organized activity every month including: BBQs, entertainment nights, raising awareness, as well as an annual walk. The annual walk was started in 2002 and raised money to provide service dogs to those in need.

Headwinds Cycling Club

Mission: simply ride.

The objectives of this non-profit organization are to promote the sport of cycling in Southern Alberta and to provide involvement for members in all aspects and levels of bicycle road racing, touring (recreation and transportation), mountain biking, and triathlon.

The Lethbridge Headwinds Cycling Club is affiliated with the Alberta Bicycle Association (A.B.A.) , the Canadian Cycling Association (C.C.A) and the Alberta Triathlon Association (A.T.A.).

Galaxy Bowling

Welcome to Galaxy Bowling & Pizza. We are located in Park Meadows Mall right next door to the Flamingo Gaming Lounge. Our ten pin bowling center is fun for all ages with 12 lanes, a Pizza Hut Express and a licenced lounge with a pool table and video games. Do you have a child with a birthday coming up? Ask about our kid’s birthday packages. They are only $65 an hour per lane and are a hit with kids and parents alike. The kids get to have fun with a group of friends and there is no mess at home for the parents to clean up.

We have leagues for people of all ages, from 7 all the way to 97. We have our Saturday morning YBC Program, Adult Leagues Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Evenings and also a Senior League on Tuesday Afternoons.

Fritz Sick Pool

Located within the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization building, a multipurpose 56,200 square foot senior centre located in the heart of the city. It is designed to be the community focal point on aging where older persons as individuals or in groups can come together for services, activities and sociability. The pool caters mostly to seniors and young children, with some adult programs such as conditioning swim. The pool is owned by the City of Lethbridge, but operated by a third party service provider.

Family Centre is a community-based organization. It provides families, living in Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta, with caring and respectful family support through a comprehensive range of prevention and early intervention services to children, youth, parents, grandparents and other family members. In 2004, Family Centre was recognized as a “Government of Alberta – Parent Link Centre”.

The Ministry identified that Parent Link Centres are “centres of excellence”.

Family Centre has a defined mission to strengthen capacities and encourage the best possible development of families in Southwestern Alberta. We will strengthen families using resources and supports that contribute to healthy relationships at home and in the community. Our vision is: Healthy Children! Healthy Families! Healthy Communities!
