Stan Siwik Family Pool

The Stan Siwik Family Pool was constructed in 1974. Originally designed for synchronized swimming and diving programs, the pool has a rectangular 6 lane and 25 metre tank. There are two diving boards in full operation. A hot tub and fitness area were added during extensive renovations.

The Lethbridge Summer Swim Club consists of approximately 100 members. The club ranges from the ages of 5 to 19 as well as in ability, from novice to the club nationals. LSSC has a wealth of history winning 22 Region F Championships, 2 ASSA Provincial Championships and producing several quality swimmers. The Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre was constructed on the West Side of Lethbridge in 1982 and it includes a swimming pool and one sheet of ice. The Gyro Spray Park is located behind the Leisure Centre. The pool is rectangular in shape, 25 meters long with two slides and a rope. There is also a wading pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness area equipped with appropriate equipment. The emphasis in this facility is on a total family leisure concept and it caters mostly to the young.

The Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild is a non-profit roller derby league in Lethbridge, Alberta. Estblished in 2010, it is home to the Deathbridge Derby Dames, the women's team, and the Windy City Wipeouts, the co-ed junior team.

Roller derby is a contact sport for all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities. The Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild's junior program is for boys and girls aged 8 to 17. Children will learn to safely skate, then work up to teamwork and contact.

In the adult program, you can train to become a member of the Deathbridge Derby Dames, playing full-contact games across western Canada.

Or, you can train to become a roller derby referee, after graduating from the adult skating program. As a referee you travel with the team and are part of the game day reffing crew.

Lethbridge Minor Basketball Association

A non-profit organization committed to teaching sportsmanship and basketball skills to children and youth through coach mentored practice and competition.

The Lethbridge Minor Basketball Association (LMBA) was founded in 2007 to develop interest and skills in the sport of basketball in Southern Alberta. LMBA operates in partnership with Basketball Alberta to provide JR NBA, Steve Nash Youth Basketball (SNYB) and Superleague Basketball to children and youth. We also operate Boys and Girls Club basketball teams for the spring tournament season in the U11 and U13 categories. Steve Nash and Superleague run from early January until the end of March. All practice and league games will be played at schools in Lethbridge. Club basketball begins near the end of February and continues until the middle of June. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to coach, referee, score, and time keep. Application forms will be available at registration.

Only flat shoes/runners are needed everything else is supplied. Free lesson. $30.00/season.

Low Income Families may fill out an application at City Hall for subsidy.

Come and try it twice for free all you need are flat shoes or runners, bowls and everything else are supplied. The cost is $30.00 for the year. Students 11-18 year old are free.

We get together once a month for a potluck social evening. Twice a year we go to Medicine Hat for fun tournaments the club will pay for all your expenses.

Lethbridge Lacrosse Association

The Lethbridge Lacrosse Association is a non-profit amateur sport organization, created and governed by volunteers. Our primary mission is to organize and promote the game of lacrosse in Lethbridge and surrounding communities in Southern Alberta.

The Association has been founded upon the principles of Athlete Centered Coaching, as promoted by the Canadian Lacrosse Association. Athlete Centered Coaching means that the organization is designed to serve the needs of youth and adults interested in playing the sport of lacrosse.

The programs of the association create opportunities for fun, exercise, and skill development, based on the expressed desires of the athletes, and not those of coaches or administrators. The association promotes the best interests of the players through a commitment to sportsmanship and fair play, and to the creation of a supportive learning environment that is free from harassment, abuse, or intimidation.

All persons seeking membership in the Lethbridge Lacrosse Association shall be provided with a formal statement regarding the association’s athlete centered coaching policy, and must agree to support this philosophy as a condition of participation in the activities of the association.

Lethbridge Kyodokan Judo Club

The Lethbridge Kyodokan Judo Club was founded by Yoshio Senda in 1952 and has been active, with Sensei Senda as head instructor and coach up until his passing on September 9, 2009. The club has a proud history, of which we will add more later. Lethbridge Horseshoe Club

Formed in the early 1970s the Lethbridge Horseshoe Club was very successful. By 1978 they hosted the Alberta Horseshoe pitching championship at Indian Battle Park. At that time there were 20 sets of pits and close to 200 players from around the province. By the mid-1980s the club moved from Indian Battle Park to Pavan Park on the north side of Lethbridge before the flood of 1995 wiped the pits out. Since the late 1990s, the Lethbridge Horseshoe Club has operated at its location next to the Japanese Gardens.

The Season runs the first of May and goes to the end of September.

The Lethbridge Country Club was founded in 1913 and moved to its current location in the mid 1920’s. As Lethbridge’s only private member-owned golf club, the Lethbridge CC has prospered over the years expanding to 18 holes in 1983 and growing to 585 shareholders since that time.

The current membership is comprised of 585 playing shareholders and with spouses and juniors, the club has approximately 850 annual members. Fortunately, many of the members are not active golfers, which leaves good accessibility to tee times for those who wish to use the facilities frequently. Most of the membership is comprised of people in the Lethbridge business community along with many retired community members.

Lethbridge Broomball Association

In a game of broomball there are two teams, each consisting of six players: a goaltender and five others. The object of the game is to score more goals than the opponent. Goals are scored by hitting the ball into the opponent's net using the broom. Tactics and plays are similar to those used in sports such asice hockey, roller hockey and floorball.
