Our Mission LSSA enables skaters of all ages and skill levels to participate in the sport of speed skating. In addition to advancing the sport, individuals focus on personal, as well as team growth, through on and off-ice activities in a safe, inclusive, supportive, and fun environment. Sessions run from October through March. Individuals new to the sport of speed skating start by registering in a 10 week Learn to Speed Skate session.

The Stan Siwik Family Pool was constructed in 1974. Originally designed for synchronized swimming and diving programs, the pool has a rectangular 6 lane and 25 metre tank. There are two diving boards in full operation. A hot tub and fitness area were added during extensive renovations.
The Pool offers programs in condition swimming, open swim, aquajog, and other public programs such as senior, family and parent and tot swims. It also caters to school programs and swimming lessons during the winter season.

The Southern Alberta Bow Hunter’s Association is an organization dedicated to archery and bow hunting as well as the community as a whole. The main goal, as stated in their mission statement, is to provide opportunities for all people to participate in archery in an effort to maintain a long-standing tradition of archery in the Southern Alberta area.
Located in Peenaquim Park is situated alongside the Old Man River. With eleven red shale diamonds, and plenty of open space to park, the facility lends itself to large multi-day tournaments. The clubhouse is located at the south-east corner of the park, and serves as the hub for meeting, organizing and socializing. A small ground-level theatre style room is used for meetings, while a large second floor room with adjoining outdoor balcony is ideal for concession and food service. Also, on site are four regulation size beach volleyball courts.

The mission of the Nord-Bridge Senior Centre is the provision of educational, social, and support services programs for Senior Citizens and the fostering of independence, self worth, and a sense of community pride amongst the senior citizen population of Lethbridge, and surrounding communities in Southern Alberta. Their objective is to be known as the “The Friendly Centre.” Offering: Educational & Life-Skills Programs; Fitness & Socialization Programs; Keep-In-Touch Program; Outreach Program; Social Programs; Travel Programs; and Volunteer Recruitment.
The Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre was constructed on the West Side of Lethbridge in 1982 and it includes a swimming pool and one sheet of ice. The Gyro Spray Park is located behind the Leisure Centre. The pool is rectangular in shape, 25 meters long with two slides and a rope. There is also a wading pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness area equipped with appropriate equipment. The emphasis in this facility is on a total family leisure concept and it caters mostly to the young.
A registered Athletics Canada organization and have a long standing history in Lethbridge Alberta. We run introduction programs for athletes 10-12 years of age using the RUN, JUMP, THROW, WHEEL program which gives athletes an opportunity to be introduced to all the different Track and Field disciplines, developmental programs for speed, power, and distance for ages 13-18, and programs for ages 18+
Memberships are valid for one year. Fee are to be renewed on the 1st Saturday in May. Drop in and weekly guest rates apply to all users after this time.
The club meets regularly for classes on Wednesday evenings (September to May) at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 1818 5 Ave S, Lethbridge, Alberta, at 7 pm. The final Wednesday of each month is a social evening with a set dance program and snacks provided by members of the club. $30 for a membership.

We get together once a month for a potluck social evening. Twice a year we go to Medicine Hat for fun tournaments the club will pay for all your expenses.
Formed in the early 1970s the Lethbridge Horseshoe Club was very successful. By 1978 they hosted the Alberta Horseshoe pitching championship at Indian Battle Park. At that time there were 20 sets of pits and close to 200 players from around the province. By the mid-1980s the club moved from Indian Battle Park to Pavan Park on the north side of Lethbridge before the flood of 1995 wiped the pits out. Since the late 1990s, the Lethbridge Horseshoe Club has operated at its location next to the Japanese Gardens.
The Season runs the first of May and goes to the end of September.

From curling on ponds and sloughs in 1887, a two-sheeter with electric lights in 1895, a four-sheeter in 1910, to the modern facilities enjoyed today, the Lethbridge Curling Club has grown to meet the needs of an active curling community. The Club’s strong focus on the future of the sport will ensure this tradition continues.
The Lethbridge Country Club was founded in 1913 and moved to its current location in the mid 1920’s. As Lethbridge’s only private member-owned golf club, the Lethbridge CC has prospered over the years expanding to 18 holes in 1983 and growing to 585 shareholders since that time.
The current membership is comprised of 585 playing shareholders and with spouses and juniors, the club has approximately 850 annual members. Fortunately, many of the members are not active golfers, which leaves good accessibility to tee times for those who wish to use the facilities frequently. Most of the membership is comprised of people in the Lethbridge business community along with many retired community members.
We are an on-campus fitness resource centre that provides fitness services, programs, information and activities designed to encourage and support a healthy lifestyle. Our Centre is the leader in Southwestern Alberta where we ignite the passion from within the community to live an active and healthy lifestyle. We are one of nine Centres within the Be Fit for Life Network and are funded by Alberta Community Development via the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation and the Lethbridge College. Our network enables Albertans to be phsycially active where they live, work and play.
In a game of broomball there are two teams, each consisting of six players: a goaltender and five others. The object of the game is to score more goals than the opponent. Goals are scored by hitting the ball into the opponent's net using the broom. Tactics and plays are similar to those used in sports such asice hockey, roller hockey and floorball.
The Lethbridge Bowbenders Archery Club has been in existence since the early 1970’s. It is an organization of archers who enjoy target archery, 3D archery, and bowhunting.
LAB provides social and recreational opportunities for people of all ages. The Association runs a bowling league from September thru April on Tuesday nights at the Holiday Bowl. There are numerous activities through the year and at least one organized activity every month including: BBQs, entertainment nights, raising awareness, as well as an annual walk. The annual walk was started in 2002 and raised money to provide service dogs to those in need.
HOLIDAY BOWL is a full entertainment facility that provides 20 lanes of five pin bowling, billiards, full restaurant and lounge, and live entertainment on the weekends.

Located within the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization building, a multipurpose 56,200 square foot senior centre located in the heart of the city. It is designed to be the community focal point on aging where older persons as individuals or in groups can come together for services, activities and sociability. The pool caters mostly to seniors and young children, with some adult programs such as conditioning swim. The pool is owned by the City of Lethbridge, but operated by a third party service provider.

Crowsnest Pass Cross Country Ski Association is a not-for-profit group dedicated primarily to promoting cross-country skiing at the Allison-Chinook cross country ski area in the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta.
The Allison-Chinook cross country ski area is located on public lands on the east side of Tecumseh Mountain at the continental divide. The forested, sheltered and rolling terrain found here provides for a superb cross-country ski experience for skiers of all skill levels. Allison-Chinook has fabulous trails and some additional basic amenities: – Over 30 km of well signed trails; groomed and track-set from approximately Dec 1 to Mar 31; beginner, intermediate and advanced levels – Primarily groomed for classic skiing, with approximately 7 km available for skate skiing on certain trails as noted at the trailhead – Access to the surrounding back-country – A warm up hut with wood stove – Pit toilets – Non-motorized access only

Cottonwood Park is a City Preservation Area and is named for its extensive cottonwood forest. The park includes grasslands, coulees, and forests It also provides a natural habitat for many prairie species including the Prairie Rattlesnake.
The park is open from 7 am – 8:30 pm year round and there is a small parking lot on the upper bench with a shale trail that leads down to the lower river valley. The trail heading down to the river bottom is fairly steep so be prepared for a hike.
The City of Lethbridge maintains one 400-meter, outdoor running track located at Civic Athletic Field (6 Ave S and 11 St S). The track is open to the public and can be used during normal park hours. Please note that the track does not have lights and is not cleared of snow in the winter. There is also an outdoor running track located at the University of Lethbridge. Open times for the public vary, so please click here to view the most current schedule.
